We are a family business located on acreage in the Manning Valley, NSW, Australia, about 3 hours north of Sydney. Our interest in Australian Cobberdogs began in 2019, with a search for the "perfect" dog to assist and serve humans, whilst also being hypoallergenic. We love providing people with lovely, human-focused puppies that become their "cobbers" for life.
You can have peace of mind about the physical and mental health of our puppies. Our foundation Australian Cobberdogs are Spring Hills Sunlit Rose and Spring Hills Emma, registered with the Master Dog Breeders Association. In order to provide the healthiest and most beneficial qualities, we mindfully:
~ raise our puppies in a calm, stress-free environment
~ provide a healthy country life with exercise on acreage with access to fresh air and rainwater
~ do not keep large numbers of dogs , rather we place some dogs in guardian homes to ensure they live their best lives with other loving families
~ provide training and socialisation opportunities for our puppies
~ provide nutrient-dense raw diets and limit their exposure to environmental and dietary toxins
~ visit our vet regularly to ensure the ongoing health of our dogs
~ partner with other ethical and health-orientated breeders in the selection of ideal matings
~ partner with the Master Dog Breeders Association in order to ensure the ongoing development of this wonderful breed.
The Australian Cobberdog, for many generations now, has its own unique genetic blueprint and is an identifiable and registered breed in the developing stages. You can learn about their history here. Over many generations, our Australian Cobberdogs have been selectively bred to have the desired traits of:
~ strong human-focus and connection
~ a calm and centered demeanour
~ emotional warmth and intelligence
~ sustained eye contact
~ high intuition (reading emotional states well)
~ high aptitude for training.
These qualities make the Australian Cobberdog an ideal choice for families with young children, people with disabilities (eg. Autism and PTSD) and anxious states and place that need a dog to have a calming influence on the people there (eg. schools and nursing homes). It is also an ideal dog for people with allergies to dog hair due to their hypoallergenic, low shedding coat.
Australian Cobberdogs come in 3 sizes according to the breed standard: miniature, medium and standard. At this stage we are focusing on medium size Cobberdogs, although we have a miniature female and standard male in our breeding program.

Cobberdogs require regular brushing and occasional clipping, although your floors are likely to require less-frequent cleaning compared to if you had a regular dog with a shedding coat!
Australian Cobberdogs come in a lovely array of colours. These colours often change over time and may be affected by sunlight, environment and a dog's natural aging process. Colours are often described differently between breeders.
At this stage we have bred dogs with variations of white / blonde / rose gold, cafe and raven (black). Most

At this stage we have bred dogs with variations of white / blonde / rose gold, cafe and raven (black). Most of our dogs have a rose pigment (called liver in other breeds), except for Emma, whose pigment is black. Pigment affects the colour of the nose and the skin lining around the eyes, rims of the lips and paw pads.
Our focus has been temperament and health, rather than colours.

Go to "Available Puppies" to find out what dogs we currently have for adoption. In addition, we are taking applications for anticipated litters in late 2023. We assess puppies and applications after puppies are born and try to match puppies with appropriate homes.
